The University Library, Mountain Top University (MTU) is one of the four principal departments of the Institution. The Library was established alongside the parent Institution. The University Librarian as the Administrative and Professional head, has full responsibility for the day to day administration and development of the department, and also reports to the Vice-Chancellor on matters affecting the Library. Other professional Librarians coordinate and supervise activities in various sections within the library system and report to the University Librarian.
The functions of the Library are:
- To establish and maintain a range and quality of services and resources that will complement and strengthen the programmes of the institution.
- To encourage optimal use of resources.
- To provide information literacy training for staff, students and other researchers.
- To provide resources in a variety of formats to meet individual’s information needs.
- To provide professional reference services.
- To provide Technical Services to maintain Library resources.
- To provide a comfortable and quiet study space for users.
