DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS

As Physics is a practical oriented Science, the philosophy of Physics is to facilitate the production and empowerment of its graduates that can advanced the frontiers of knowledge of Physics, and also, have broad based bias in Electronics and its applications.

A. Candidates must have five credits in O’level SSCE of WAEC or NECO or IGCSE at not more than two sittings to include:

  1. Mathematics (Credit)
  2. English (Credit)
  3. Physics (Credit)
  4. Chemistry (Credit)
  5. Further Mathematics/Biology/Geography (Credit)

B. UNIFIED TERTIARY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION (UTME) SUBJECT REQUIREMENTS :

  1. English language (Credit)
  2. Physics
  3. Mathematics
  4. Chemistry and any other ONE of Biology/Geography

C. DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Direct Entry candidates must fulfil the conditions in A (above) and have a minimum of Upper or Lower Credit at the ND Examination or equivalent from a recognized institution or G.C.E (Advanced Level) or equivalent in at least two science subjects with a minimum of a credit (C) in Physics and any of Mathematics or Chemistry to qualify for admission into 200 level of the programmes.
